Crass/freeze with black screen on LRR start up

Okay so I'm having a problem with getting Rock raiders to start. It used to work on my computer. The issue I'm having is that when I start LRR (no matter what compatability settings are selected), I get a black screen. I can still hear the Lego logo building sound, but nothing after that. When this happens, I have to close the game via task manager. In there, it says that LRR is not responding. I tried every suggestion I saw on this forum for similar issues but it still won't work. Also I get the same black screen freeze when using eaither Intel HD or the Nvidia GTX 645 GPU. All other games run perfectly. The computer OS is windows 7. Any help?

So you don't have a Radeon graphics card? Good.

Try running it in windowed mode - don't click on the 'Advanced' (or whatever) shortcuts, just click directly on the executable and it will come up with a little menu. Change it from Fullscreen to Windowed mode.

Hi! It says "no supported 32 bit modes" when I try to select the windowed mode. It only allows full screen.

I would like to also add that when I tried to open up the wad files in the WADtool, it keeps saying "the selected wad file is not a valid LRR wad".

Okay got the problem solved! What I did was make a new windows account and when I started LRR there, it booted up normally. Though I'm wondering how this is possible that it now works fine on a different account.

Oh and Aidenpons, Thanx for trying to solve the problem.

Awhoops! I forgot, you have to change your colour settings to 16-Bit. I'm not quite sure how it's done on WIN7. On Vista, right-click on the desktop and select 'Personalize.' Then select 'Display Settings' and then find the colour.

Garr, stupid WAD tool. Use this instead.

Oh hey another topic in still opened in my tabs.

On Vista, right-click on the desktop and select 'Personalize.' Then select 'Display Settings' and then find the colour.

On Win7, at least, it's faster to right-click the desktop and select "Screen resolution" and then click "Advanced settings," and then from that click "List All Modes."

Garr, stupid WAD tool.

There's nothing wrong with the WAD Tool, it just can't read the WADs because Windows won't let it interact with anything that isn't in the C:Users directory, because Windows is evil.
